About Inn Miyama

Inn Miyama is located in a small village at Miyama-town of Kyoto prefecture. The property is a thatched roof house, reminiscent of Japanese folktale. We only accept one group at a time to ensure exclusivity. During the stay, you can immerse yourself in the beautiful nature of surrounding mountains and within a few minutes’ walk, there is a pristine stream inhabited by fireflies, sweetfish “Ayu”, and giant salamanders.

A Hosted Stay with Privacy
Inn Miyama is a small, owner-hosted inn. The owner lives on the same property and is available if you need assistance or local advice.
Guests enjoy fully private bedrooms and bathrooms in the main house, while the owner’s bedroom and bathroom are located in a separate building on the premises, ensuring a peaceful and comfortable stay.

This arrangement offers the best of both worlds:
privacy when you want it, and a welcoming host nearby when you need support.

About Us

We (Tomoko and Sho), the owner of Inn Miyama, moved to Miyama Town in 2021.

We returned to Japan in 2019 after living overseas for more than 30 years. We fell in love with the thatched roof house and its beautiful surroundings at first sight, and decided to move to Miyama.

We started our Inn because we wanted people to experience Miyama’s culture, lifestyle, and its beautiful nature.

We believe that the people of Miyama are the biggest attraction of this town. There are many innovative projects taking place that makes Miyama a unique place where tradition and new ideas coexist. We provide activities to our visitors in collaboration with them so that our guests can experience the charm of Miyama.
